• Understand non-equilibrium processes during irradiation, with applications in nuclear fission, fusion, and space
• Design and test materials for corrosion resistance; understand corrosion and oxidation in materials
• Leverage novel alloy chemistries and microstructures for radiation tolerant materials design
• Develop models for radiation damage tolerance and microstructural efficiency
• Integrate operando microscopy and real time machine learning to improve and streamline methodologies for tackling radiation damage characterization
